C1 Tower

The site is distinguished by its privileged location, offering distant views of the Jura, and by its proximity to agricultural and sports areas. Tower C1 is one of three towers framing the new eco-district Les Vergers in Meyrin. Acting as a true figurehead, it is positioned as a pivot at the crossroads and stands as a landmark marking the entrance to the agglomeration. The concave form of its folded façades addresses the wider landscape like an open book. This geometry also accommodates through-apartments within the curved central portion and groups, along the axis of the fold, the entrances leading to the different programmatic uses.
The mixed-use program includes several categories of housing, as well as a private clinic. Taking advantage of the site’s natural slope, the sectional arrangement ensures independent access: the residential entrance opens toward the public outdoor spaces of the district, while the clinic entrance faces west for better visibility from Route de Meyrin.
The volume is structured horizontally, segmented while maintaining a strong architectural unity built on the theme of the continuous band. Vertically striated, the prefabricated concrete bands generate variation and vibrancy through the play of incident light.
