The challenge of building in the era of the Anthropocene means taking climate and ecological issues into account, in particular by promoting the circular economy and the reuse of materials. The project aims to make the most of existing structures and materials on the site to reduce the carbon footprint, using the metal structures of the former TPG depots at La Jonction and the concrete slabs of the building on the site. The heated areas are grouped together in a suspended volume under the roof, creating a high floor. The ground floor, meanwhile, is organised by boxes containing the boats, providing cover and passageways. The project thus illustrates the new architectural possibilities offered by the recycling and reuse of materials approach.
